Azmin Unveils New Selangor Bersatu Lineup After Sacking Two Division Chiefs

Date:

Selangor Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has unveiled a refreshed state leadership lineup following the removal of two division heads. In a statement today, Azmin announced that Morib assemblyman Rosnizan Ahmad has been appointed state secretary, Kapar Division chief Jumiah Jonet will assume the role of treasurer, and Sungai Kandis assemblyman as well as Bersatu Kota Raja chief Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad has been named information chief. Bukit Melawati assemblyman Datuk Noorazley Yahya will serve as director of communications and media.

Azmin said the restructuring was executed under Clause 16.5 of the Bersatu constitution, which grants the state chief the authority to reorganize the leadership lineup. He emphasized that Bersatu Selangor remains focused on strengthening outreach efforts by enhancing information and communication initiatives to better convey the party’s aspirations.

The reshuffle follows the expulsion of Sepang division chief Suhaimi Ghazali and Puchong division chief Shukor Mustaffa for breaching Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution, along with the party’s code of ethics. Suhaimi previously served as Bersatu Selangor secretary, while Shukor was the state information chief. Both were investigated after complaints were filed and were summoned for a disciplinary hearing on Oct 30. They have 14 days to appeal.

Azmin expressed confidence that the new leadership lineup will inject renewed drive into the party’s machinery and strengthen public engagement. He added that the reshuffle aligns with Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional’s mission of serving as a platform for the people.

These dismissals add to a series of disciplinary actions within Bersatu in recent months, including the removal of Supreme Council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, as well as four other division chiefs from Hang Tuah Jaya, Pengerang, Ipoh Timur, and Ampang.
