Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has indicated that the coalition will not block the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) should it decide to exit BN, following the party’s recent convention resolution to leave and join the opposition.
“I respect whatever decisions are made by the delegates and the MIC leadership. Whatever decision they make, we will accept it with an open mind and an open heart,” Zahid said.
Responding to BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan’s comment that discussions with MIC would take place before any final decision, Zahid agreed that engagement is appropriate.
“That is the best possible approach. And whatever decision is to be made is entirely up to the party concerned,” he added.
