China Suspends Export Ban On Gallium, Germanium And Other Critical Minerals To U.S.

Date:

China has announced the suspension of its export ban on “dual-use items” related to gallium, germanium, antimony, and super-hard materials bound for the United States, the Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday.

The suspension takes effect immediately and will remain in place until November 27, 2026, the ministry said in a statement, without providing further details.

Beijing had first introduced the export ban in December 2024 as part of broader trade control measures.

On Friday, China also suspended additional export restrictions imposed on October 9, which included expanded curbs on certain rare earth and lithium battery materials.

The move comes after President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly agreed to reduce tariffs and pause other trade measures for one year.
