Annuar Musa said the intention of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) to remain within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition should be respected by all parties involved.
The PAS Central Working Committee member stressed that any decision regarding the coalition’s structure and membership must be made collectively by all PN components, rather than through unilateral action.
He said this principle is in line with the coalition’s agreed framework, which requires consensus among all member parties for any major decision.
The matter comes after reports that Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had decided the party would remain in PN and use the coalition’s logo in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
Muhyiddin had also previously stated that no party has the authority to expel Bersatu unilaterally, as such actions must follow PN’s constitution and agreed procedures.
He explained that any move involving party membership must be based on mutual agreement among all coalition partners.
The development continues to draw political attention ahead of the upcoming state elections, which are expected to test voter sentiment and the strength of the coalition.
