The investigation into former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is ongoing, with authorities currently focusing on assets believed to be held by him in the United Kingdom, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki today.
He explained that MACC is in the process of obtaining detailed information from UK authorities regarding the matter.
“The investigation involving Mahathir is still ongoing, and we are gathering comprehensive information from external parties, particularly from the UK authorities, regarding assets believed to be owned by him. If such information is confirmed, we will make an announcement later,” he said during a press conference.
Azam had previously stated in April 2024 that the former prime minister was among the individuals under investigation in relation to asset declaration matters.
