The government will give due consideration to calls for the full report by a special investigation committee into alleged share ownership involving former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki to be made public.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the matter would be considered if necessary, subject to existing legal provisions.
She said this would include safeguards concerning personal information, the confidentiality of investigation documents, asset declaration records and the interests of relevant parties.
Azalina said the issue of asset ownership and declarations, including Azam’s alleged shareholdings, had been examined by a special investigation committee established on February 13, 2026.
“The committee has completed its investigation independently, transparently and professionally, and its findings have been presented to the Cabinet,” she said in a written parliamentary reply published on the Parliament’s official website today.
She was responding to a question from Khoo Poay Tiong (PH-Kota Melaka) on the committee’s findings, possible action against Azam and whether the government was prepared to release the report.
Azalina added that any official developments or decisions deemed appropriate for public disclosure would be announced by the Chief Secretary to the Government’s Office.
She said this was in line with a media statement issued by the office on March 31, 2026.
