Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s daughter Nooryana Najwa declined to comment when asked about the RM50 million payment reportedly imposed as one of the conditions of her father’s conditional pardon.
“I don’t know,” she told reporters with a smile as she arrived at the High Court on Friday.
Nooryana was accompanied by her children as she attended proceedings involving Najib’s application to suspend his 15-year prison sentence and RM11.38 billion fine in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case.
She also declined to reveal how much had been paid or the amount collected so far before entering the lift to meet her father.
Najib was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined RM11.38 billion after being found guilty of four charges of using his position to obtain bribes and 21 counts of money laundering involving 1MDB funds.
Then High Court judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah convicted Najib on all 25 charges on December 26 last year, involving approximately RM2.3 billion in 1MDB funds.
The latest proceedings relate to Najib’s bid to suspend the execution of his sentence and fine in the 1MDB case.
