The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has requested the Home Ministry to revoke the passport of Adlan Berhan, son-in-law of Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.
MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Baki said authorities are actively trying to locate Adlan, who is wanted to assist in an investigation into a ministry project involving foreign worker biometric data.
“We submitted the application yesterday and hope the Home Ministry will approve it,” Azam told Berita Harian. He added that Adlan is currently in a country that does not have an extradition agreement with Malaysia.
“However, we are negotiating with that country on how to bring him back,” he said.
Adlan and his lawyer, Mansoor Saat, are being sought to assist in the probe concerning the registration, recruitment, and storage of foreign worker biometric data. MACC had previously indicated that both were required for the ongoing investigation.
