Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is expected to announce its list of candidates for the upcoming 17th Sabah state election (PRN17) on November 11 or 12, said its chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Hajiji confirmed that the list of candidates has been finalised and is only awaiting official announcement.
“The announcement will likely be made around November 11 or 12, about three or four days before nomination day,” he told reporters after presenting letters of appointment to 42 Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 4.0 Fellows at Menara Kinabalu today.
The Election Commission has set November 15 as nomination day, with early voting on November 25 and polling day on November 29.
Hajiji, who is also the Chief Minister of Sabah, addressed reports that some individuals had left the party after not being selected as candidates.
“Some are disappointed for not being chosen and have decided to leave the party. But we must remember — quality matters, and loyalty to the party should come first. One should not sulk or quit just because they weren’t picked,” he said.
