Malaysia is making strong progress toward achieving its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a projected success rate of 49 per cent by 2030, well above the global average of 18 per cent, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.
Anwar said the figures were presented during the 2025 National Sustainable Development Goals Council Meeting, which he chaired this morning.
“While these results are encouraging, there is still much work to be done, especially in addressing the country’s 10 SDG priority areas — including child malnutrition, mental health, special needs education, and employment for persons with disabilities,” he said in a Facebook post.
He emphasised that collaboration among federal and state governments, the private sector, and civil society is essential to ensure that “no one is left behind” in Malaysia’s development journey.
Anwar reaffirmed the Madani Government’s commitment to advancing the SDG agenda in alignment with the 13th Malaysia Plan, paving the way for a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous future for the nation’s younger generation. — Bernama
