Najib Denied Permission to File Contempt Case Against Former AG Ahmad Terrirudin

Date:

Datuk Seri Najib Razak has failed to obtain High Court permission to initiate contempt of court proceedings (committal) against former Attorney General Tan Sri Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh over the Titah Adendum issue.

Judge Alice Loke Yee Ching dismissed Najib’s application after finding he had not established a prima facie case to start contempt proceedings against Terrirudin.

“With that, the application for committal is refused,” she said.

The former Prime Minister filed the application in relation to actions taken by Terrirudin, now a Federal Court judge, during a judicial review involving the Titah Adendum.

The application was based on a copy of the Titah Adendum dated 29 January last year, issued by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which had been handed to Najib’s son, Datuk Mohamad Nizar, obtained from the Pahang Sultan’s office.
