Najib To Remain In Kajang Prison Until RM50 Million Fine Is Paid

Date:

Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will remain in Kajang Prison until the RM50 million fine imposed by the court is paid.

Najib’s lawyers, Messrs Shafee & Co, said this in a statement issued on his behalf on Sunday.

The law firm said Najib and his legal team were currently studying the conditions attached to the conditional pardon, as well as their practical implications.

Najib was granted a conditional pardon by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, subject to payment of the RM50 million fine.

Until the conditions are fulfilled, Najib will continue serving his sentence at Kajang Prison.
