The Education Ministry (KPM) has confirmed that no Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 examination centres have been closed due to floods, following early preventive measures that include preparing alternative venues for schools affected or used as temporary relief centres (PPS).
Education director-general Dr. Mohd Azam Ahmad said the arrangements were planned in advance with the Examination Board and other relevant agencies to ensure the examination schedule proceeds without disruption.
During a visit to SMK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) today, Dr. Mohd Azam also extended his well wishes to the school’s 228 SPM candidates. The 2025 examination session officially began this morning with Bahasa Melayu Paper 1 at 8.15am, followed by subsequent papers.
He assured that schools currently functioning as PPS or those at risk of flooding will not face examination delays, as KPM has already designated alternative classrooms, hostels, or other examination centres to accommodate candidates.
“For schools used as PPS, we have planned ahead. If the hall is occupied for flood relief operations, the examination will be relocated to classrooms or other identified centres,” he said.
Dr. Mohd Azam shared the update after inspecting the first day of SPM at SMK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) earlier today.
