Petronas Denies Involvement In Reported Diesel Shipments To Philippines

Date:

Petronas has denied any involvement in reported shipments of around 329,000 barrels, or 52.311 million litres, of diesel allegedly exported from Malaysia to the Philippines, as claimed in recent foreign media reports.

The national oil company clarified that it has never entered into any agreement with any party in the Philippines regarding diesel supply.

In a statement issued today, Petronas stressed that its primary priority remains ensuring stable and continuous fuel supply for Malaysia, in close coordination with the government and relevant stakeholders.

The clarification comes in response to a report by the Philippine News Agency (PNA), which stated that the diesel shipments were intended to boost fuel supplies in the Philippines amid global oil market uncertainty linked to the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
