All government agencies, government-linked companies (GLCs) and government-linked investment companies (GLICs) have been instructed not to hold Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house celebrations.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the directive during a special press conference in Putrajaya today.
“This sends a clear message to exercise more prudent and moderate spending. It is a sensible measure to prevent us from getting into more difficult situations,” he said.
He added that ministers and all members of the administration and government departments are also restricted from overseas visits or trips unless they are scheduled and mandatory.
