PN Directs Members To Vote For BN In 25 Negeri Sembilan Seats

Date:

Perikatan Nasional (PN) has instructed all its members and supporters to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the 25 Negeri Sembilan state seats that the coalition is not contesting in the upcoming state election.

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the directive must be adhered to by members of all PN component parties to ensure the cooperation between PN and BN succeeds in forming the next Negeri Sembilan state government.

Speaking during a campaign rally for the Gemas, Gemencheh and Repah state constituencies at Felda Bukit Rokan on Saturday night, Takiyuddin stressed that PAS members, together with members from all PN component parties, were required to follow the coalition’s leadership directive throughout the election campaign.

He also urged PAS members in the Tampin parliamentary constituency to support BN candidate Suhaimizan Bizar in Gemencheh, PN candidate Ridzuan Ahmad in Gemas, as well as MCA candidate Koh Kim Swee in Repah, saying the shared objective was to defeat Pakatan Harapan (PH).

According to Takiyuddin, the instruction for PAS members to support BN candidates was consistent with the party’s previous approach during the Johor state election, where members were also directed to back candidates aligned with efforts to challenge PH.

He revealed that the political understanding between PN and BN for the Negeri Sembilan state election was finalised on July 14, four days before nomination day, marking a significant development ahead of the polls.

Takiyuddin described the cooperation as a united front, expressing confidence that the partnership between PN and BN would strengthen both coalitions’ chances in the election and provide voters with an alternative administration for Negeri Sembilan.

His remarks came after BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi similarly instructed BN members and supporters to cast their votes for PN candidates in the 11 state seats being contested by the coalition, reinforcing the reciprocal electoral cooperation between both sides.
