A prison riot in Mexico’s violence-hit Sinaloa state left 10 people dead, including nine prisoners and one visitor, on Thursday.
The state’s security office said another 16 inmates were injured in the incident.
Prosecutors will investigate the cause of the riot, while authorities confirmed that the prison had since been brought under control.
The incident occurred in Sinaloa, a state plagued by violence.
