Public Universities Go AI: 72% of Courses Now Include Artificial Intelligence Skills!

Date:

Local public universities have implemented outcome-based learning, with a particular focus on developing digital skills, including artificial intelligence (AI), as part of the higher education transformation agenda.

The Ministry of Higher Education noted that 72% of bachelor’s degree programs offered by public universities — or 860 courses — now include at least one subject related to AI technology.

The ministry said this initiative is part of efforts to equip graduates to meet the challenges of a digital, innovative, and competitive workforce, thereby enhancing their employability.

At the same time, courses at the Institute of Skills and Technology have produced 227 digital learning materials and platforms centered on immersive technologies and AI, forming the foundation of an AI-focused immersive ecosystem for student learning.

The ministry highlighted that these efforts aim to produce graduates who can adapt to technological developments while ensuring the ethical and human-centered application of AI.

Additionally, 34 core entrepreneurship courses at public universities now incorporate AI elements. At the Institute of Skills and Technology, 50 entrepreneurship projects address community challenges and transform them into business opportunities.
