The Registrar of Societies Malaysia (RoS) has confirmed the cancellation of Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) registration, saying the coalition failed to provide sufficient explanations to address the grounds for the decision.
RoS said the decision was made under subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832), following a review of all documents and representations submitted by PN on October 12.
The registrar had issued a notice to PN on September 22 under subsection 13(2) of the Act, giving the coalition an opportunity to explain and respond to the issues raised.
“After reviewing all documents and explanations submitted, the Registrar of Societies found that the reasons given failed to refute the grounds for cancellation of registration stated in the notice.
“They also did not provide sufficient justification to maintain the organisation’s registration,” RoS said.
