The Education Ministry will investigate claims of a leaked 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination paper, although it currently believes no such breach has taken place.
Education director-general Dr. Mohd Azam Ahmad said the ministry and the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate are examining allegations that surfaced on social media in recent days.
“The ministry is aware of the claims, but we have not received any official reports. For now, we believe the SPM examination questions remain secure,” he said during a visit to SMK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) on the first day of the exam.
The issue gained attention after screenshots circulated online showing individuals allegedly selling leaked SPM questions for as low as RM499 per subject, with some promising an “A” grade or a full refund.
Azam assured that established protocols are already in place within the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate to handle such matters.
“I am confident in the process, as I previously served as an exam director and am familiar with the procedures used to deal with these allegations,” he added.
A total of 413,372 candidates are sitting for the 2025 SPM examination.
