Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has expressed her gratitude after receiving an outpouring of support and offers of financial assistance from friends in Malaysia and abroad following the latest development involving her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Rosmah said friends from Brunei, Italy, Singapore and Canada had contacted her to express their happiness over the development involving Najib, while also offering to contribute financially.
“They only want to see Datuk back with his family. That is all.
“I never expected that so many people still cared and were willing to come forward to help with such sincerity.
“Today, I realise who my true friends are, those who have stood by us through good times and bad,” she said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
On Friday, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim granted Najib a conditional pardon, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, subject to the settlement of a RM50 million fine.
The Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department (BHEUU, JPM) said in a statement that the decision was made following the consent of Sultan Ibrahim, who chaired the Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting.
Najib is required to comply with the conditions imposed. Failure to comply with any of the conditions would result in the conditional pardon being revoked, requiring him to immediately continue serving the remainder of his sentence in prison.
Rosmah also expressed her appreciation to everyone who had offered prayers, love and support to her family during the period.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you once again for all your prayers, love and sincerity,” she said.
