Trump Threatens Military Action Against Colombia Says It “Sounds Good to Me”

Date:

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at potential military action against Colombia, describing such an operation as something that “sounds good to me.”

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump criticized Colombia’s leadership, calling the country “very sick” and accusing President Gustavo Petro of being involved in cocaine production and trafficking to the United States. He warned that Petro “is not going to be doing it very long.”

When directly asked whether the U.S. would consider military intervention, Trump reiterated, “It sounds good to me.”

His remarks come in the wake of the U.S. capturing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in a high-profile raid, transferring him to New York to face drug-trafficking charges.

The comments sparked global attention, raising questions about U.S. intentions in the region following the Maduro operation.
