“Why Not Just Leave?” Akmal Fires Back At Tan Teik Cheng Over Ahmad Zahid Criticism

Date:

MCA Deputy President Tan Teik Cheng yesterday criticised Ahmad Zahid for being unfit to serve as Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, prompting a sharp response from UMNO Youth chief Datuk Mohamad Akmal. Akmal suggested that if Tan believes the BN chairmanship is a “burden,” MCA should consider leaving the coalition altogether.

“If MCA disagrees, then why not just leave MCA yourself? That would be truly walking the talk,” Akmal wrote in a Facebook post last night.

He also highlighted Tan’s election results when he ran for office, pointing out that he lost by a large margin and mocking who the real “burden” is.

“Regarding MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, please get him a mirror,” Akmal added.

Tan’s remarks came after Ahmad Zahid recently claimed that the opposition Democratic Action Party (DAP) has a “B team,” which Tan cited as part of his argument that Zahid is unfit to hold the BN chairman post.
