The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, offered guidance to the newly appointed Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman, during a meeting at Istana Negara today.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim emphasised that the strength of a nation’s defence forces lies not only in assets and technology but also in integrity. He stressed that a culture rejecting corruption and abuse of power must be at the core of leadership within the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
“Integrity, transparency, and accountability are fundamental in ensuring the ATM remains respected and trusted by the people,” he said.
Sultan Ibrahim also urged all members of the ATM to maintain high discipline and make anti-corruption principles a continuous part of their work culture to safeguard national sovereignty. He reminded the top leadership to prioritise the welfare of personnel while enhancing defence capabilities in line with evolving security challenges.
The monarch expressed confidence that the new Chief of the Armed Forces is capable of carrying out his responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
