More than 1,000 PAS youths from across Malaysia have issued a warning to Pakatan Harapan (PH), saying the younger generation will not be easily swayed by what the party describes as its propaganda ahead of the 16th General Election (GE16).
Kelantan PAS Youth chief Mohd Firdaus Mohamed Nawi said the turnout for the Youth Convoy, held as part of PAS’ 75th anniversary celebrations, sent a clear signal that support among young people for the party’s cause remained strong.
He said the large turnout from participants representing various states was not merely about taking part in a motorcycling programme, but also carried a clear political message for PH.
“This is a warning to PH. Young people remain with PAS and will not easily be influenced by PH’s propaganda.
“Get ready to be buried in GE16. Young people will be the ones digging PH’s grave later,” he said.
The convoy began with participants gathering at the Panchor state constituency service centre before making their way to the Dataran Pusat Tarbiah Islamiah Kelantan (PUTIK).
The participants were received by PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib and other PAS Youth leaders.
The programme continued with congregational Asr prayers and a Youth Speech session featuring ARC Malaysia director-general Hanafi Zulkapli.
Mohd Firdaus, who is also deputy director-general of DACS PAS Youth Malaysia, said the strong youth turnout showed that the younger generation was ready to play a greater role in shaping the country’s political direction.
He said young voters would be among the key groups influencing the outcome of GE16, making youth mobilisation an important part of PAS’ preparations for the upcoming election.
