Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on Malaysians to continue upholding the spirit of togetherness, strengthening unity and preserving harmony as the country celebrates Malaysia Day 2026.
In a social media post marking Malaysia Day today, Ahmad Zahid said Malaysia’s strength lay in the unity of its people, who came from diverse racial, religious, cultural and social backgrounds.
“Differences among the people are not an obstacle, but instead serve as a strength in shaping Malaysia’s identity.
“Malaysia’s journey since 1963 continues to teach us that progress and prosperity can only be built when we move forward together, respect one another and preserve the harmony we have inherited,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, said the spirit of togetherness must continue to be nurtured to build a more prosperous, resilient and respected Malaysia.
He also urged Malaysians to play their part in strengthening national unity and ensuring harmony remains protected.
“Happy Malaysia Day 2026,” he said.
