World champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei advanced to the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open after a thrilling comeback against teammates Hoo Pang Ron and Cheng Su Yin on Thursday.
Tang Jie and Ee Wei saved four game points at 16-20 in the second game before clinching a 21-13, 23-21 victory in a 41-minute contest at Axiata Arena.
The win sets up a highly anticipated quarter-final clash with Hong Kong’s Asian champions Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet.
