Malaysia’s top badminton pairs have stormed into the finals of the Indonesia Masters 2026, with both Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani just one win away from the title. In the women’s doubles, top seeds Pearly and Thinaah needed only 32 minutes to overcome Indonesian favourites Lanny Tria Mayasari and Apriyani Rahayu 21-15, 21-9 in their semi-final at Istora Senayan. They will face Japan’s Arisa Igarashi and Miyu Takahashi, who defeated another Indonesian pair, Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum, 21-12, 19-21, 21-13. A win would make Pearly and Thinaah the first Malaysian women’s doubles pair to claim the Indonesia Masters title since Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei in 2011.
In the men’s doubles, fourth seeds Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin secured a 21-9, 21-15 victory over Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard in just 28 minutes. They will face Indonesian duo Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin in the final, marking Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin’s first final since last July’s Japan Open, where they lost to South Korea’s world number ones Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae.
Joining them in the finals, reigning mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, seeded third, defeated China’s second seeds Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin 21-17, 21-12. They will meet unseeded Danish pair Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje, who came from behind to beat Indonesia’s sixth seeds Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu 20-22, 21-19, 21-17.
Malaysia is now set for a strong showing in tomorrow’s Super 500 tournament finals.
