Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek Buys ai.com For Record US$70 Million

Date:

Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, has acquired the domain ai.com for a staggering US$70 million (approx. S$88 million), marking the highest publicly disclosed price for a domain name sale, according to the Financial Times.

Reports from the New Straits Times indicate that the domain was sold to Marszalek by Arsyan Ismail, identified by Rakyat Post as a Malaysian tech entrepreneur.

Following the acquisition, ai.com officially announced on Feb. 6, 2026, the launch of its Autonomous AI agent for consumers. The service allows users to create a private AI agent that not only answers questions but also performs tasks on their behalf. Capabilities include organising work, sending messages, executing actions across apps, building projects, and more.

A key feature of the AI agent is its ability to autonomously develop missing functions and improve itself to complete real-world tasks. These enhancements are then shared across millions of agents on the network, significantly boosting the utility for all users of ai.com.

Marszalek revealed via X that he purchased ai.com in April 2025 and had since been assembling a dedicated team. He stated that ai.com aims to accelerate the arrival of AGI by creating a decentralised network of autonomous, self-improving AI agents performing real-world tasks for humanity’s benefit.

Following this development, Marszalek will continue to serve as CEO for both ai.com and Crypto.com.

The launch of the Autonomous AI agent is set for Feb. 8, coinciding with ai.com’s Super Bowl LX commercial, which Marszalek described as a milestone for the platform.

This move positions ai.com at the forefront of the growing AI landscape, combining cutting-edge autonomous technology with a record-breaking digital asset investment.
