PRO-NET Partners With Major EV Charging Operators To Roll Out e.MAS-Branded Charging Stations

Date:

Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) has partnered with major electric vehicle (EV) charging point operators (CPOs) DC Handal, JomCharge and chargEV to introduce e.MAS-branded charging stations nationwide.

The rollout is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, initially at selected high-traffic locations before being expanded to other parts of the country.

PRO-NET chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said the collaboration would bring together the company’s capabilities, charging partners and the e.MAS digital ecosystem to provide customers with a more seamless charging experience while supporting the growth of EV adoption in Malaysia.

“As more Malaysians switch to electric vehicles, convenient and accessible charging facilities will become increasingly important to the ownership experience.

“By working with leading CPOs, we want to make charging easier and provide greater benefits to e.MAS owners, particularly when they charge at key locations,” he said in a statement.

The initiative will focus on strategically located public charging points in high-traffic areas, bringing the e.MAS charging experience to places frequently visited by customers.

e.MAS owners who make payments through the Proton e.MAS app will also be eligible for special charging rates at participating stations, providing better value when charging their vehicles.

More than 4,700 charging points covering over 90% of Malaysia are currently accessible through the Proton e.MAS app. The app is also integrated with a Live Charging Map available in e.MAS vehicles.

Zhang said the strategic partnerships with leading CPOs represented the next step in expanding the Proton e.MAS ecosystem and bringing its branded charging experience to more public locations.

“This initiative is a proactive step by PRO-NET to work with industry partners to support the development and accessibility of EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia,” he said.

Through the partnerships, PRO-NET will support the participating CPOs in expanding their charging infrastructure, providing EV users with greater access to charging facilities while strengthening the e.MAS brand presence at participating charging stations.

Meanwhile, PRO-NET charging division head Ahmad Munif Halim said combining charging access through the Proton e.MAS app would allow the company to make the charging experience more convenient while providing greater value to e.MAS owners.

“By working with experienced CPOs, we can simplify the charging process while giving customers access to existing support should assistance be required.

“All these efforts will help us create a better charging experience for e.MAS owners,” he said.
