Spotify Rolls Out Global Lyrics Translations, Previews And Offline Access

Date:

Spotify has unveiled a series of new lyrics features aimed at improving how users understand and interact with songs, including worldwide access to lyric translations, lyric previews and offline lyrics support.

The music streaming platform announced on Wednesday that lyric translations, first introduced in 2022 but previously limited to selected markets, are now being rolled out globally. Both free and premium users will soon see a translation icon within the lyrics section of the app. When tapped, translated lyrics will appear based on the language settings of the user’s device, subject to availability.

In addition, Spotify is introducing lyric previews to users worldwide. The new feature places a compact lyrics box between the song title and album artwork, allowing listeners to view a snippet of the lyrics without switching to the full-screen lyrics display. Spotify said this enhancement is designed to make lyrics more accessible while users browse or listen casually.

Meanwhile, Spotify Premium subscribers globally will gain access to offline lyrics. With this update, lyrics will be automatically saved alongside downloaded tracks, enabling users to view them even without an internet connection.

Spotify said the latest improvements reflect its ongoing efforts to enhance music discovery and accessibility, particularly for listeners exploring songs in different languages.
