An international apparel brand has introduced a unique innovation to the market: underwear specifically designed to effectively eliminate the smell of flatulence. The Shinesty Fart-Blocking Underwear is being marketed as the world’s first garment engineered to neutralize up to 99% of gas odors at a molecular level, turning a potentially embarrassing social situation into a non-issue.

The secret behind the product lies in its advanced fabric fibers. Developed over five years in collaboration with Swiss-based Livinguard Technologies, the underwear utilizes an innovative electrostatic mechanism. According to the company, as odorous gases pass through the specialized fabric, the technology converts the pungent molecules into odorless salts.
Shinesty CEO Chris White explained that the product aims to address a universal, albeit sensitive, human experience.
“Everyone farts, but nobody wants to be remembered for it. We don’t want to stop the fart; we want to stop the fallout,” White stated.
The necessity for such a product is supported by data from the University of Maryland, which suggests the average person passes gas approximately 32 times a day, highlighting just how common the occurrence is in daily life.
Maintaining the effectiveness of the “fart-blocking” technology is reportedly as simple as regular laundering. The company claims that a standard wash cycle actually reactivates the electrostatic charge within the fibers, ensuring the odor-neutralizing function remains at peak performance.
The product’s claims have been independently verified by Intertek, a global leader in product testing and certification. Their rigorous evaluation confirmed that the fabric successfully neutralizes nearly all detectable odors, providing a high-tech solution for those seeking extra confidence in social or professional settings.
