Sarawak Govt Allocates RM70,000 in Building Materials for Long Loyang Fire Victims

Date:

The Sarawak government will provide RM70,000 worth of building materials to assist victims of a fire that destroyed a home in Kampung Long Loyang last week.

Telang Usan assemblyman Datuk Dennis Ngau said the aid will be channelled through the Divisional Disaster Management Committee.

Upon returning from an official trip, Dennis visited the site to meet the victims and evaluate their urgent needs. He advised the village chief to form a coordination committee and open a dedicated bank account to properly manage public contributions for rebuilding.

“This tragedy was not only about the loss of homes but also the loss of a life,” he said.

Dennis also thanked government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and volunteers for their swift response in providing food, clothing, and basic essentials to affected residents.

“Most importantly, your presence has brought some comfort to the victims during this difficult time,” he added.
