Activist Fahmi Reza Summoned by Police Over Livestream Questioning TYT Sabah’s Removal

Date:

Political activist Fahmi Reza has been summoned by police for questioning over a recent “Kelas Demokrasi” livestream in which he discussed the possibility of removing Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman from office.

In a Facebook post, Fahmi said he received notice from the Criminal Investigation Department this afternoon, requiring him to appear tomorrow to provide a statement.

The investigation involves a livestream titled “Can TYT Musa Aman be removed?” uploaded on Facebook on Nov 21, and is being conducted under: Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, and Section 504 of the Penal Code

Fahmi, who has been conducting nightly Kelas Demokrasi sessions on TikTok for new voters ahead of the Sabah state election — a continuation of similar initiatives during GE15 and past state polls — said he will comply with the summons.

“To the police, as usual, if you call, I’ll come. See you tomorrow,” he wrote.

He also confirmed that the probe would not prevent him from continuing the educational livestreams.

“To new voters, even though I’ve been called in, I won’t stop doing Kelas Demokrasi every night, because in a democracy, the people are the bosses,” he said.
