Employee at KL Hair Centre Reportedly Earns RM58,000 in One Month

Date:

A viral social media post has sparked debate after allegedly revealing that an employee of a prominent hair care centre in a Kuala Lumpur shopping mall earned a staggering RM58,363.50 in a single month, far exceeding his reported basic salary of RM3,000.

The post, shared by an individual believed to be a financial planner, included what appeared to be a payslip showing more than RM39,000 in sales commission. The poster highlighted his shock, stating that the figure was “simply unbelievable” for a non-executive employee.

While the post suggested that high earnings are possible in the service industry, it also pointed out the challenges of managing large variable incomes, especially when applying for housing, vehicle or business loans, as banks typically prioritise individuals with fixed incomes.

The disclosure drew mixed reactions online, with some questioning the ethics of sharing someone else’s salary details publicly, even if anonymised. Others commented on the high cost of hair care services, stating that customers are often offered packages worth more than RM10,000, sometimes via credit card instalment plans.

One user advised potential clients to be cautious when purchasing such treatments, while another claimed that a lawyer at his company once paid up to RM10,000 for a single session at the same mall.
