Many couples engage in intimacy during a relationship, but when genital infections occur repeatedly, seeking medical attention is crucial. Recently, a well-known urologist, Dr. Ko Fang-Yu, shared a case involving a young couple who came to the clinic after the woman suffered repeated intimate-area infections. They suspected the boyfriend’s phimosis (tight foreskin) might be the cause — but what the doctor found was far worse than they expected.
According to Dr. Ko, the couple in their twenties visited after the woman experienced persistent infections with no clear cause. When asked whether he cleaned properly, the boyfriend confidently said, “Yes, I rinse it with water whenever I shower.” Since the man claimed to maintain hygiene, the doctor expected nothing unusual.
However, once Dr. Ko retracted the foreskin, a strong odor — described as resembling blue cheese — instantly filled the exam room. Even more shocking, the doctor found hardened, thick smegma coating the area, comparing its appearance to a “big rocky snake.” Dr. Ko warned him, “There’s a lot of trapped dirt inside.”
Hearing this, the girlfriend froze in disbelief before bursting out angrily, shouting, “So the last time I went down on you, I was eating that? And you told me it was normal — that all guys are like this!” The room fell into deep awkwardness.
Dr. Ko explained that the excessive smegma buildup not only contributed to the woman’s frequent infections but also posed serious health risks for the man himself.
After the post was shared online, netizens reacted with shock and disgust:
- “I was eating while scrolling… now I’m nauseous. Guys, please just wash properly!”
- “How did he not get an infection with that much buildup?!”
- “Basic hygiene is the most fundamental requirement of being human…”
- “I’m going to have nightmares about cheese.”
- “That poor woman — emotional damage for life.”
- “How does someone like this even get a girlfriend?”
The doctor reminds the public that proper genital hygiene is essential, especially for individuals with phimosis, as unclean areas can easily trap bacteria, leading to infections for both partners.
