15-Year-Old Arrested After Threatening Schoolmate With Machete Over Money

Police have detained a 15-year-old boy for allegedly threatening to kill his schoolmate during a video call in Gombak yesterday.

Gombak district police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the arrest was made after the 14-year-old victim’s father lodged a report.

Investigations revealed that the Form Three student had contacted the victim via video call, demanding money and allegedly threatening him while brandishing a machete.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. The teenager has since been released on police bail.
