Police are investigating an additional report against a 40-year-old teacher previously arrested over the alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy at a religious primary school in Kampung Pandan.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed that the new complaint, filed yesterday at 1pm, involves another 11-year-old victim. “The case remains under investigation, and the suspect is in remand. This new report involves a separate victim but the same suspect. Statements from six witnesses have already been recorded,” he said after attending the Prihatin Insani event with the Kuala Lumpur Police Families Association (Perkep) at the city police headquarters.
Authorities are probing the possibility of additional victims at the school. The suspect has been remanded for six days until December 25, and the investigation is being conducted under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, which carries a maximum 20-year prison term and whipping upon conviction.
During the Prihatin Insani event, Fadil thanked the Al-Izuddin Foundation, MedicAid, and Sri Ternak for supporting Kuala Lumpur police personnel, particularly lower-income staff and those with children with special needs. Kuala Lumpur Perkep chairman Datin Nurashidah Ishak described the initiative as not only a donation effort but also a demonstration of humanity and social responsibility.
