Convicted Rapist Jailed Additional 8 Weeks for Sharing Obscene Images of Women Online

Date:

A 47-year-old man already serving a prison sentence for his involvement in a case where husbands drugged their wives and arranged sexual assaults has been handed an additional eight weeks behind bars.

The man, whose identity is protected by a gag order, pleaded guilty to posting multiple obscene images on an online portal.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Sruthi Boppana told the court that in 2010, the man created a thread titled “Wife Fantasy” to connect with others sharing similar sexual interests. He engaged in discussions about sexual acts involving other men’s wives, including scenarios in which the women were unconscious or drugged.

Investigations revealed that between 2012 and 2019, he uploaded images of sexual encounters without the women’s consent. Some images showed sexual acts, with faces obscured but private areas exposed. Authorities recovered 19 images in 2020, of which 12 were deemed obscene.

The images were posted under the thread “Wifey Pics to Share” and elicited 129 responses from users, according to court documents.

The man had previously been sentenced in January 2024 to 13 years’ imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane for conspiring to commit rape between 2010 and 2011. The new eight-week term will be served consecutively after the completion of his original sentence.

He was the last of seven men prosecuted in connection with this unprecedented rape conspiracy case, which came to light after one victim discovered explicit images of herself on her husband’s phone on January 1, 2020.
