A total of 257 traffic summonses were issued and 10 arrests made during a special traffic enforcement operation across Selangor in conjunction with the 2025 Christmas celebrations, state police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said.
The operation, conducted simultaneously across all districts by the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department, also resulted in the seizure of 47 motorcycles and one car.
“In Petaling Jaya, six arrests were made under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983 following urine screenings by the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA). Kajang recorded two arrests under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, while Subang Jaya saw one arrest under Section 45(a) of the same Act. Gombak recorded one arrest for drug possession under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said in a statement.
Shazeli added that the operation involved 222 personnel, including 24 senior officers and 198 other ranks, and focused on enforcing road laws, preventing street gangster activity, tackling drunk driving, and overall crime prevention during the festive period.
The effort was further supported by 20 officers from the Road Transport Department deployed in Sabak Bernam, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and Ampang to ensure smooth execution.
“The operation ran smoothly and remained under control, successfully achieving its objectives of enhancing law compliance and providing a sense of security to the public,” Shazeli said, adding that police are committed to ensuring road safety during the Christmas 2025 celebrations.
