PAS Pulls Out of Perlis EXCO, Offers to Lead Perikatan Nasional

Date:

PAS has announced that its party members in the Perlis State Legislative Assembly will not participate in the State Executive Council (EXCO) under the new Menteri Besar, Abu Bakar Hamzah.

PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said all existing PAS EXCO members will resign from their positions as a gesture of solidarity, following the resignation of former Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, who is also from the party.

In a related development, PAS has offered to take the helm of Perikatan Nasional after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stepped down as the coalition’s chairman.

“PAS is ready to lead the coalition and strengthen it ahead of the 16th general election (GE16) and other upcoming state elections,” Takiyuddin said in a statement.
