Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that the Madani government will not tolerate or bow to any threats in its efforts to combat corruption, regardless of whether they come from allies or opponents.
Speaking at a special press conference in Putrajaya today, Anwar said the government remains committed to taking firm action so that recovered funds can be channelled towards improving the welfare of the people.
According to Berita Harian, Anwar said he had earlier met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, during which he briefed the King on recent and ongoing decisive actions against corruption at the highest levels.
“I conveyed the latest developments and emphasised that we will not tolerate or accept threats from any party,” he said. “We will act firmly on this issue, whether it involves friends or foes.”
Anwar reiterated that the government’s stance reflects its determination to uphold integrity and ensure that public funds are returned to the people for the nation’s benefit.
