One-Year-Old Bites Cobra to Death in Bihar

Date:

A one-year-old boy named Govinda in Bettiah village, Bihar, made headlines after biting a cobra to death while playing near his home. According to locals, the snake coiled around the child’s hand, prompting a reflexive reaction in which Govinda bit the snake, killing it instantly.

Shortly after the incident, Govinda lost consciousness and was rushed to a nearby Primary Health Centre before being referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah. Doctors there reported that the child is now stable and under observation.

Govinda’s grandmother, Mateshwari Devi, recounted that the child’s mother was nearby gathering firewood when the snake appeared. She said, “The snake came out, and the child hit it with something and then bit and killed it. It was a cobra. The child is just one year old.”
