13-Year-Old Threatened Stabbing Classmate 300 Times, Ordered to Two-Year Good Behaviour Bond

Date:

A 13-year-old boy who threatened to stab a female classmate 300 times and have her raped last year has been ordered by the Magistrates’ Court to serve a two-year good behaviour bond.

Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan also set an undeposited bail of RM500 for the bond, with a parent or guardian as surety, and instructed the boy to report to the Kuching Division Welfare Department every two months. He must also attend interactive workshops at designated centres under Section 93(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for two years.

The teenager had earlier pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a fine, or both.

According to the charge, on October 21, 2025, around 2:40 pm at a school in Padawan, the boy threatened the victim with the intent to cause grievous hurt, claiming he would stab her 300 times and have her raped. Investigations revealed that he referenced a fatal school stabbing in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, in making the threats.

The incident began when the boy and a friend, both classmates of the victim, disturbed her while she was studying, causing emotional distress. The victim, unable to tolerate their behaviour, filed a police report for school disciplinary action.

The threats left the victim fearful, traumatized, and reluctant to attend school. Several classmates witnessed the incident.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aidil Akmal Sharidan, while the boy did not have legal representation.
