Johor police are investigating a peculiar road accident after dashcam footage showing a motorcyclist striking an unusual pose went viral online.
The footage, shared on social media, showed a car traveling along a road at night when a motorcycle riding against the flow of traffic suddenly veered into the car’s lane, causing a collision. The impact sent debris flying and the motorcyclist flipping midair.
Instead of collapsing or reacting in pain, the motorcyclist was seen lying on the car bonnet in a ‘sleeping’ pose, tucking an arm near his head and briefly wiping his face as if checking for injuries.
Authorities confirmed the motorcyclist, a foreign national, was riding against traffic along Jalan Masai Lama in Masai. Seri Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the accident occurred at about 10.30pm on Tuesday (Jan 6), involving a Volkswagen GTI traveling from Jalan Permas Jaya towards Taman Desa Jaya.
The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was taken to Sultan Ismail Hospital for treatment, while the car driver was unharmed. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
