Fire Destroys Six Squatter Homes Along Jalan Klang Lama, Foreigner Injured

A fire tore through a squatter settlement along Jalan Klang Lama near Scott Garden in Kuala Lumpur this morning, destroying six homes and injuring a foreign resident.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received a distress call at 9:11am and quickly dispatched 28 firefighters from Seputeh, Pantai, and Hang Tuah stations to tackle the blaze at Taman Hock Ann.

The fire was brought under control at 9:52am and fully extinguished by 10:45am. All six affected squatter houses were completely destroyed.

An Indonesian man in his 50s sustained burns on the left side of his body and was immediately taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
