Man Provokes Police After Being Arrested for Alleged Theft, Makes Vulgar Gestures

Date:

A man suspected of theft caused a scene during his arrest in Penang, repeatedly taunting police, making obscene gestures, and even threatening to disrupt proceedings in court.

According to a 43-second video posted by “Penang Kini” last night, the incident reportedly took place in the Bukit Gedung area. The man, whose alleged theft led to the arrest, displayed aggressive and provocative behaviour while handcuffed.

In the footage, he can be seen shouting loudly, making obscene gestures at officers, and verbally challenging them. His remarks included threats to create trouble in court, saying, “Then I’ll go cause chaos in court! I’ll complain about how you do your work!”

At the scene, at least four police officers and several bystanders were present. Officers remained calm, warning the man about his behaviour without engaging in heated confrontation. One officer told him, “If you want to cause trouble, don’t interfere with my work. I’m just doing my duty to arrest you.”

The man’s erratic behaviour highlights the tensions that can arise during arrests, though the specifics of the alleged theft have not been officially released. The case and any subsequent disputes will be addressed by the police or the courts.

The video has since sparked discussions online, with many netizens criticizing the suspect’s aggressive conduct.
