“Who Would Invent Such A Drug?” Namewee Slams Meth-Laced Aphrodisiac Claims

Date:

Malaysian singer and filmmaker Namewee has questioned claims that a so-called aphrodisiac could contain methamphetamine, describing the idea as both illogical and contradictory.

After appearing in court earlier yesterday over a drug possession case, Namewee took to Facebook to clarify that his urine test showed no traces of methamphetamine or sildenafil. His post quickly drew a large number of comments from netizens.

About nine hours later, at around 9pm, Namewee reiterated his stance in a follow-up comment under the same post, once again stressing that his urine test results were negative for both methamphetamine and any erectile dysfunction drugs. He also expressed disbelief at allegations suggesting that methamphetamine was mixed into an aphrodisiac.

Commenting further, Namewee said such a claim made no sense, pointing out that adding methamphetamine would significantly increase production costs. He added that methamphetamine is known to impair male sexual function, making its combination with an aphrodisiac not only contradictory but also ineffective and unnecessarily expensive.

“Mixing methamphetamine into an aphrodisiac? Do you know how much the cost would increase? Do you know how much an aphrodisiac costs compared to methamphetamine? And do you know that methamphetamine actually causes sexual dysfunction?” he wrote. “Putting ‘ice’ into an aphrodisiac — for what purpose? It would be expensive and ineffective. Who would invent such a self-contradictory drug?”
