Missing Teenage Cousins Found Safe In Machang After 32 Hours

Date:

Two teenage cousins who were reported missing since Thursday night were found safe in Machang yesterday afternoon, about 32 hours after their families lodged two separate police reports.

The teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were discovered at a homestay in Machang, roughly 25 kilometres from their home in Kampung Baloh, Kok Lanas.

Following their discovery, police are believed to have detained several suspects to assist in investigations into the disappearance of the two teens.

Speaking to NST, their 43-year-old aunt said both teenagers are now under observation at Kuala Krai Hospital.

The family expressed relief and gratitude after the cousins were safely located, thanking police for their efforts as well as relatives and members of the public who supported and prayed for them during the ordeal.

She said both teenagers are in good condition but are still slightly traumatised by what had happened.

The family has requested privacy and space to spend time with them as they recover.

The two cousins were previously reported missing after going out for a stroll in Kota Bharu on Thursday afternoon.
