Two men died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a van in Kampung Saga 3, Jalan Kibagu, on Monday night.
The accident, which occurred at around 7pm, left both victims—whose identities have not yet been released—fatally injured after being trapped under the van. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station chief Ordine Gilu said the department received a call about the incident at 7.19pm. Eleven personnel were dispatched to the scene, located 14.7 kilometers from the station.
“The operation commander reported that the accident involved a van and a motorcycle. The victims were trapped under the vehicle, and rescue efforts were immediately carried out using an Air Lifting Bag,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
Both victims were confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the van driver did not sustain any injuries. The bodies have been handed over to the police for further action.
